COLOR AND SCALE
ADDING IMAGES
Beginning with a page of information about the PICT event, the first step I took was to figure out the hierarchy of information that would be important to the reader/poster viewer. I took my hierarchal decisions to the computer with the first type exercise, involving various hierarchy techniques of stroke weights, linespacing, and margins.
COLOR
Referring to some of the adjectives (“energetic”, “emotional”, “provocative”, “innovative”, “expressive”, “powerful”, and “culture”I had classified the event on the poster, I started coming up with some color schemes that reflected this adjectives. I tried to use bolder and more deep colors to reflect these moods.
SCALE
In terms of altering the scale of the words, I wanted to push myself to develop solutions that changed the composition of the poster from simple text to a more graphic and dynamic solution. I wanted the text to reflect the drama and energy of being at the play without adding back the color/images to the iterations yet.
With adding image, I wanted to explore images that either dealt with light (the theatre itself used lots of dramatic lighting), bright/lots of colors (to show the energy), or lots of movement/curves(to show the drama and energy). I also took this time to refine some of the compositions I had already created as well as to develop more as felt inspired by the addition of a background photo/design.
